Driving and walking along East Gun Hill Road is about to get a bit safer thanks to a new initiative by Mayor Bill de Blasio.
Following a number of deaths over the years, the mayor and his team have agreed to install a slow zone along East Gun Hill Road.
Residents say the fixes are better late than never. They say they hear about accidents in the area all the time.
City officials say the new signs will start going up on Monday, and the project will last about a week.
