Debate continues over Sterling Forest State Park development
Those opposed to developing homes on part of Sterling Forest State Park will get to voice their opinions to the Tuxedo Town Board Monday.
The Sterling Forest Corporation has proposed a plan to build more than 100 high-priced homes in the middle of the park. Many environmentalists are trying to preserve the land and stop the development plans. Environmentalists add the park supplies drinking water to thousands throughout Rockland and Orange. They say it is also home to some endangered species.
The Tuxedo Town Board will hear arguments both for and against the development beginning Monday night.
