Deposit gone wrong – Driver pries ATM open; steals money during power outage

A man in West Long Branch says he was making a deposit at a bank when the power went out – and a few minutes later – his money was stolen.

A man in West Long Branch says he was making a deposit at a bank when the power went out – and a few minutes later – his money was stolen.
The incident happened Monday at the Santander Bank.
According to the victim, he was making a deposit at the bank when the power went out, causing his money to get stuck in the ATM.
The victim says when he drove up to tell an employee, another driver came up and pried the machine open -- taking the money.
Police are checking surveillance video to try and track down the person in the car.
