Controversy continues to swirl around former Knicks coach Isiah Thomas after he reportedly overdosed on sleeping pills last week.

On Friday, Harrison police officials told News 12 Westchester that the 47-year-old Thomas overdosed on Lunesta sleeping pills at his home on Azalea Circle in Purchase. Thomas was taken to White Plains Hospital Center, where he was treated and released.

Harrison police officials are now accusing Thomas of trying to cover-up the details of the incident after he and members of his family disputed that report over the weekend.

Harrison Police Chief David Hall says Thomas' claim that it was his daughter who needed medical attention is inaccurate. Hall says it was definitely Thomas who was rushed to the hospital.

New York Knicks officials say Thomas is fine, but there is no word on when he will return to the basketball team. Thomas is still employed with the Knicks as an advisor.

The Knicks are owned by Cablevision, the parent company of News 12.
