Road crews across the Hudson Valley spent Tuesday making snow preparations with as much as 8 inches of snow in the forecast for Wednesday.
In Orange County, Warwick DPW Commissioner Jeff Feagles says dozens of workers will be out in an effort to keep roads clear and safe.
"Right now, everything's mixed, ready to go," he says. "The guys are tweaking their trucks because they're saying 2 to 4, 5 to 8 (inches of snow), with a little bit of ice on top of it," Feagles says.
Residents also hit their local stores to stock up on ice melt and shovels. Those with snowblowers made sure to have extra shear pins on hand in case something breaks.
Many say clearing snow is extra work, but it comes with living in New York.
Some residents say they wish they'd gone to Florida.
