Driver in deadly I-95 crash could face more charges

RYE - The young man believed to have caused a deadly crash on I-95 Friday could face additional charges.

Jose Ramirez has already been charged with drunken driving after he allegedly drove his Honda Accord into a state Thruway pick-up truck parked near the 287 ramp in Rye. The front-seat passenger, 24-year-old Kelman Villa Santos, was declared dead on the scene.

Ramirez was taken to Westchester Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. The rear-seat passenger, 22-year-old Emanuel Gonzalez, was taken to Stamford Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The name of the truck driver has not been released, but authorities say he is a 53-year-old White Plains resident. He was taken to Westchester Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

The young men were returning home to Connecticut from a bar in Westchester when the accident happened.
