(09/03/10) YONKERS - Hurricane Earl was downgraded to a Category 1 storm before it hit New York Friday.
Hudson Valley residents didn't experience much of the storm, but that didn't stop them from preparing for the worst.
Howard McMichael, owner of McMichael Yacht Yard in Mamaroneck, says he received calls from clients all day asking him to bring boats closer to shore, or pull them out all together.
It seems the storm had the most impact on Eastern Long Island.
