NYACK - One person is dead after an early morning crash in Nyack.

Police say 40-year-old Vito Scavone was killed after his car slammend into two utility poles Saturday morning at about 4 a.m. on Route 9W and Old Mountain Road.

Police shut down the road for about six hours to conduct their investigation.

Officials say speeding was likely the cause of the collision.
