RYE - Christians across the Hudson Valley celebrated Easter Mass today, while others began the celebration Saturday evening.

The worshiping started at nightfall outside the doors of the Church of the Resurrection in Rye.

Usher Mark Warga described Easter as a time of reflection and renewal in the Christian community.

News 12 was also at St. Paul’s the Apostle Church in Yonkers where worshipers united in prayer with their loved ones during Mass Sunday morning.

Pope Francis delivered Easter Mass to an estimated 100,000 worshippers in Saint Peter's Square at the Vatican Sunday morning.
