Edward Lier, of Wallkill, sentenced to prison for drug-fueled crash that killed 15-year-old Alana Tadry
WALLKILL - A Wallkill man was sentenced to prison today for a drug-fueled crash that killed a teenage girl.
An Orange County Court judge sentenced Edward Lier, 21, to five-15 years behind bars this morning.
Lier admitted he was high on marijuana and prescription drugs when he crossed over a double yellow line on Route 32 in Wallkill in November 2012. The car split into two pieces after hitting a vehicle driven by John Dyer, then 49, of Newburgh. The accident killed Lier's 15-year-old passenger, Alana Tadry and injured two others.
Lier pleaded guilty to aggravated vehicular homicide in November.
