Civilians, politicians and veterans came to the Empire VFW Post 375 in Yonkers on Monday to honor those who paid the ultimate sacrifice for their country.
Military personnel read the names of comrades who passed away in the last year.
The 30-minute ceremony also included the placing of wreaths in remembrance of all those who have served in the military.
Veterans who News 12 spoke with say those who served and never made it home are the country's real heroes.
