Family: $8,000 stolen after fundraiser for Brewster boy's surgery
A Brewster family says thousands of dollars was stolen after a fundraiser that was held for its son's reconstructive-ear surgery.
According to Tim and Colleen Sullivan, their 9-year-old son, Aiden, was born without a right ear due to a rare congenital facial disease and needs three corrective surgeries.
The Sullivans say a group of Connecticut firefighters raised $8,000 during a fundraiser for Aiden, but at the end of the event, someone walked off with the money.
The family says it plans to go ahead with the first surgery in March and hopes the person who took the money knows they deeply hurt Aiden.
