Family and friends said their final farewells Monday to the Yorktown teen who drowned upstate last week. Police say 18-year-old Klaudius Kurcz was swimming with co-workers Thursday when he and three others started having difficulties and called for help. Two of the four were able to swim to shore. A third was rescued, but Kurcz went under before he could be reached. His death has been ruled an accidental drowning. Neighbors have described Kurcz as a quiet young man, uncommonly kind and caring of others. One neighbor described him as the type of kid every parent would be proud of and his teachers at Yorktown High School agree.
