A Bronx family who had their beloved pet ripped from their hands and mauled by a pit bull is asking for the owner of the dog to come forward.
The 6-month-old Yorkie-Shih Tzu mix names Bardi was killed after being attacked by an off-leash dog on Sunday.
A video that captured the incident shows a dog attacking the small breed, grabbing it tight and shaking it like a toy.
Bardi was put down after multiple injuries, but now her family says they are left with countless medical bills.
"For the pit bull’s owner to just walk away and take no parts, I don't feel like that's right," says Bardi’s owner, Ki'arra Roberts. "She should just own up to what her pit bull did."
The family hopes the pit bull's owner comes forward and does the right thing.
