The family of a Bronx woman allegedly killed by her ex-boyfriend is calling for tougher domestic violence laws.
Family members say 21-year-old Angelica Sanchez was killed by her jealous ex-boyfriend, Brian Rosario. They say Sanchez recently left Rosario because he was abusing her. Rosario was out on bail from a domestic violence charge when the murder occurred.
Sanchez?s family believes if Rosario was still behind bars, the young woman would still be alive. Sanchez?s cousin is calling for a new bill called the Angelica Sanchez bill, which would deny bail to those charged with a felony, including domestic violence. Senator Ruben Diaz (D-BX) says he plans on looking into the request.
