Police say the owner of a Suffolk concrete company has been charged with illegal dumping.
They say 54-year-old Ludovino Correia, of Farmingville, is accused of illegal dumping, cutting down trees and causing damage to the Suffolk County Nature Preserve in Yaphank.
Detectives say Correia stored barrels of oil at the park, which leaked hazardous chemicals into the soil. He owns Sunshine of East Coast in Medford.
Correia was arrested Monday. He's due back in court on Dec. 4.
