Father, son die in New Rochelle car crash, 2 other children hospitalized

A crash in New Rochelle claimed the lives of a father and his 7-year-old son, and two children are hospitalized.
The incident happened around 1:30 a.m. on Pelhamdale Avenue at the intersection with the Hutchinson River Parkway northbound exit ramp.
New Rochelle police say a gray Nissan Altima drove off the ramp and collided with a stone retaining wall.
The driver has been identified as 37-year-old Troy Carter, of Hempstead.
Carter was driving with his three young children - identified as 11-year-old Tiara Carter in the front seat and 7-year-old twin boys Carmello and Romello Carter in the back seat.
Troy Carter was pronounced dead at the scene.
Carmello Carter was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Police have not yet released their names, but say the family is from the Long Island area.
The two surviving family members underwent surgery and are said to be recovering.
