SOUTH NYACK - South Nyack officials are looking into the future of the town's Village Hall after the construction of the Tappan Zee Bridge.

South Nyack Mayor Bonnie Christian says plans for Village Hall include moving it to accommodate a parking lot for those using the bike and pedestrian path on the new Tappan Zee Bridge. Christian says she wants to prevent people from parking throughout residential areas.

Residents sounded off Thursday against the plan after hearing a presentation from several officials.

The state's original plan had the pedestrian pathway ending on Smith Avenue, a plan the mayor and the task force opposed because it's a residential area. Many in the area say the new concept isn't any better.

Nothing has been decided upon, and town officials say they're looking for the public's input on what to do.
