RYE - The fifth annual Westchester Pancreatic Research walk will be held this week in Rye Town Park.

The organizer of the walk, Tara Shanes-Hernandez, says about 10,000 people are expected to show up to raise awareness and funds. She adds that in the five years the walk has been held the foundation has raised more than $1 million, with continued growth each year.

Cablevision started the Lustgarten Foundation in 1998, after company executive Marc Lustgarten lost a battle with pancreatic cancer.

The walk will be held on Sunday, April 27.
