Two suspects awaiting sentencing for the brutal robbery of a Monsey kosher supermarket are going to prison for their crimes.
Edward Ceus and Junior Merseille both pleaded guilty to robbery in the first degree. Merseille was sentenced to 13 years in prison for his role in the crime. Ceus received a lighter sentence of five years since he didn?t actually take part in the actual robbery. He was in jail when the incident took place, but he did help with the planning.
The men and two others, Francisco Feria and Aldaberto Lucas, had all been arrested for the Thanksgiving-eve robbery of Monsey Glatt Kosher Superstore. Feria and Lucas were previously sentenced to 13 years each in prison.
Feria, Lucas and Merseille stole $25,000 from the kosher market and brutally pistol-whipped the clerk, fracturing bones in his face.
