PEEKSKILL - A final salute was held this morning for a veteran Peekskill firefighter who died after fighting a fire.

Dozens of firefighters lined the streets of Peekskill Thursday morning to pay their final respects to fallen firefighter Kevin Bristol.

The 48-year-old gentle giant, as he was called around the firehouse, died on Monday after suffering a heart attack during a fire call. His colleagues say when they think of Kevin, they are reminded of his nurturing demeanor and the big smile he always seemed to have on his face.
