NEW CITY - A two-car garage was destroyed overnight due to a fast-moving fire on Elaine Drive in New City.

Officials say the flames ignited at about 12:45 a.m., quickly destroying the garage housing two vehicles.

Fire officials say it took nearly two hours to get the blaze under control due to a ruptured gas line located in the structure.

The detached garage was located behind the home, so there was no damage to the house, and no reported injuries.

The cause of the fire remains  under investigation.
