Neighbors along Wood Lake Drive say nearly a dozen people and at least three children lost their homes.
Authorities say 14 units at the Spring Hollow complex were evacuated and five were destroyed.
No residents were hurt, but a firefighter suffered minor injuries.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
