The Town of Carmel honored first responders who successfully found a man who was missing for days.
Roy Clayton, 66, wandered off without his medicine last Thursday. Drones, police dogs, dive teams, volunteers and more searched for him for five days.
Clayton didn’t have a phone on him - but police finally found surveillance video of him that helped track him down in a wooded area.
“We got him to an ambulance, they got him to a helicopter. He was airlifted to Westchester Medical Center, where I've been told today he's recovering,” says Carmel Police Chief Anthony Hoffman. “He's got some lingering issues from the exposure, but he's going to do well."
Each agency involved in finding Clayton received a certificate of appreciation during this week’s Carmel Town Board meeting.
