NEW ROCHELLE - Smoke and flames forced five adults and an infant out of their home in New Rochelle late last night.

Fire officials say the blaze broke out around 10:30 p.m. at a home on Brookdale Avenue. Heavy flames were spewing out of the second floor and then quickly spread into the attic.

More than two dozen firefighters took about an hour and a half to get the blaze under control. Two firefighters were sent to a hospital with minor injuries.

The Westchester Red Cross is helping the family.
