Freshman overcomes disability to join H.S. football team
The North Rockland High School football team was joined by its newest member of the team Friday at practice.
Courtney Burrell, who suffers from cerebral palsy, is an incoming freshman at the school and has become the team's water boy.
He was quite excited for his big day. His mother, Joey Jenkins, said, "He got up at three this morning, he was ready to get on the field ... I told him he had to lay back down, it wasn't time yet."
The opportunity was set up through Michelle Brown, Burrell?s service coordinator with the non-profit, Jawonio, and the high school to help him gain self-assurance and feel like he is a part of something.
