Fundraiser to be held for OC cops' memorial wall
A fundraiser has been scheduled for this weekend to collect donations for the construction a new memorial wall for fallen Orange County police officers. The Fraternal Order of Police needs $6,000 to build an addition to the memorial that sits outside the Orange County Courthouse after it had run out of space to engrave more names. The group hopes to have it done by May for Police Memorial Week, at which time two more names of fallen officers will be added to the wall. "When we erected this wall, we put it here at the entrance to the courthouse so people that would pass it every day, people seeking justice, those being brought to justice would pass that wall and know what the cost of living in a free society is," says Michael McGinn, of the Fraternal Order of Police. The fundraiser will be held Saturday from 4 p.m.-8 p.m. at the G.W.'s American Burgers in Chester.
