A funeral held for NYPD detective and Hawthorne resident Richard Riegel.
The 62-year-old died on the Friday after Thanksgiving. He had pancreatic and liver cancer.
Riegel was a Westchester native and born in North Tarrytown.
He was a first responder at the World Trade Center on 9/11, which led to his cancer diagnosis.
The funeral was held at Holy Rosary Church in Hawthorne. He was buried at Kensico Cemetery in Valhalla.
