11h agoFuneral services will be held Wednesday for the mother of Rockland County's first fallen soldier in the Iraq war.
The community is mourning 64-years-old Yolanda Lopez, who was a fierce advocate for the county's veterans. Her son, Army Cpl. Manny Lopez died in Iraq in 2005.
Her visitation will be on Feb. 22, from 3-8 p.m. at the George Holt Funeral Home in Haverstraw. Her burial Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the St. Peter and St. Mary Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Nam Knights of America's Hudson
