Residents in some parts of Rockland County will have a way to get home safely if they celebrate a little too much on New Year's Eve.

The TJ McGowan Funeral Home in Garnerville is running a Safe Ride program on Dec. 31 that offers free transportation home in the North Rockland area.

Don Cranston says last year they provided over 100 rides to merrymakers. Since they see too many funerals for alcohol-related tragedies, Cranston says, "Let us drive you home now, rather than to our home later."

The TJ McGowan Funeral Home will offer the service from midnight to 4 a.m. They say just give them a call, and don't worry, they won't pick you up in a hearse.
