The Glen Island seawall has been fully restored nine years after being damaged by superstorm Sandy.
Westchester County Executive George Latimer and other local officials unveiled the newly rehabilitated structure Friday in New Rochelle.
Officials say the vertical walls around the Harbor Club, the walkway and pavilion along the seawall were affected the most during the 2012 storm.
"This not only protects the harbor club, but it also protects Glen Island proper - that's what needed to be done,” says Peter Tartaglia, of Westchester County Parks.
News 12 is told the restoration cost of the seawall was nearly $8 million.
The project was reimbursed by FEMA.
