Goshen couple's farmhouse goes up in flames
A Goshen couple is trying to cope with the loss of their farmhouse after it went up in flames Wednesday.
A farm worker saw the billowing smoke and called 911. Firefighters say the building was engulfed and flames were coming out of the windows when they arrived. The home was destroyed, but the family was not inside at the time.
"My whole life was in there," homeowner Shelia Faith said while choking back tears. "Everything - my baby's stuff."
Faith's brother managed to kick open a door to allow the family's two dogs to escape.
Faith lived at the home with her husband, an FDNY firefighter who had recently finished renovating parts of the house, and their two small children.
The cause of the fire is not known. The family plans to stay nearby with relatives. For more footage of the massive fire, go to Channel 612 on your iO digital cable box and select iO Extra.
