Three New Rochelle public schools will close on Wednesday amid the coronavirus outbreak.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo has set up a one-mile containment area around the epicenter of the outbreak, pinpointed as The Young Israel Synagogue at 1149 North Ave.

New Rochelle School Superintendent Dr. Laura Feijóo says the schools impacted are New Rochelle High School, Albert Leonard Middle School and Ward Elementary School. She says they will be closed from March 11 through March 25. She anticipates students will return to school on March 26.
In a letter to parents, Feijóo says the district is working on providing students with educational materials to work on during the closure. They will be distributing Chromebooks for any student that needs a computer.
The district is also working with the state to provide food to families who are in need.
