THIELLS - Residents gathered with Gov. Andrew Cuomo today in Rockland County to prepare for future disasters similar to Superstorm Sandy.

About 560 residents came to the event at North Rockland High School in Thiells, where Cuomo spoke about putting the power to cope with future disasters in the hands of individuals.

Army Capt. Victoria Depaulis, who was also at the event, says attendees are walking away with the knowledge of how to prepare for disasters.
