Gov.-elect Cuomo begins tour of state facilities
A week after being elected as the next governor of New York, Andrew Cuomo began his month-long tour of state facilities.
His first stop was at the Sing-Sing Correctional Facility in Ossining, where he met with staff and officers there, as well as an inmate.
Sing Sing was the site where inmates took 17 corrections officers hostage in 1983, just after Mario Cuomo, Andrew?s father, became governor.
Cuomo is planning on continuing his tour of state facilities to see where money is being spent and where cuts can be made ahead of his swearing in. He will face an estimated $9 billion budget deficit.
