Gov. Kathy Hochul is pledging New York State's support to welcoming Afghans entering the U.S.
This year alone, the state has already committed to resettling 1,320 refugees and special immigrant visa holders.
Aug. 31 remains the deadline President Joe Biden has put in place to get all Americans and Afghan partners out of the country.
