SUNY colleges are making strides to be more inclusive.
Gov. Kathy Hochul announced Wednesday that SUNY campuses will be updating their pronoun and chosen name policies.
Students will have the option to have a chosen name appear on their diploma and all campus operational systems.
Students will also be able to select an "X" marker when asked to provide their gender.
The new policies will be fully implemented by fall 2023.
