You can grab a brew and help out local animals in need in Mamaroneck today.

The Special Needs Animal Rescue and Rehabilitation, or SNARR, is hosting an event with Pet Pantry Westchester that'll benefit the animal rescue.

It's called Yappy Hour, and it's taking place at the Sedona Taphouse.

Samantha Murtagh, SNARR's foster coordinator, tells News 12 that there is a great need to find loving homes for animals with special needs. "It's unfortunate because a lot of times special needs dogs are overlooked because people don't understand what goes into taking care of them and they're concerned that they'll be too much. They need just as much love and support as a regular healthy dog."

The event runs from 5-8 p.m.
