The Town of Greenburgh is launching a new program to help seniors register to get COVID-19 vaccines.
About 100 people attended a Zoom meeting and are volunteering to participate in a new group called the “COVID Vaccine Angels.”
It's being organized by Town Supervisor Paul Fiener who says they have been flooded with calls from the elderly who are unable to book appointments through the state’s website.
People like Norma Hurwitz, who is desperate to get a vaccine for her 90-year-old husband who is a Korean War veteran and has health issues. "It's very, very difficult, you know it's … so frustrating," says Hurwitz.
Volunteers will be calling and sending letters to seniors in the town. The program is expected to launch in two weeks.
