Getting a job just got a little easier for Bronx residents now that two organizations have merged to better train the workforce.
The community group South Bronx Overall Economic Development Corporation recently joined forces with Pro Co Technology computer training program. The groups are offering a free four-week class that focuses on customer service and software training.
"We're in a so-called recession and this will give them a look at what they need to do," says program co-founder Radame Perez.
An employment specialist works with program graduates to help them in their job search.
Program participants say the service is invaluable. "I'm at an age where I want to do something with my life for myself," says Luis Velazquez.
