The Hartsdale Fire Department held a ceremonial walkout Thursday to honor the retirement of longtime firefighter James Conners.

Friends, family and fellow firefighters gathered to congratulate him on his new chapter in life.

Conners has worked with the department for nearly 25 years, according to fire officials. Prior to his time in Hartsdale, he also worked for the Lake Mohegan Fire District for five years.
