Hate crime charges dropped for Lindsey Peaks, Demetrius Torain in Kaser paintball attack

Three people have been arraigned on hate crime charges after they allegedly shot a man numerous times with a paintball gun. (2/7/14)

KASER - Hate crime charges have been dropped against two people accused of shooting an Orthodox Jewish man with a paintball gun.

Prosecutors say they are not pursuing charges against Lindsey Peaks or Demetrius Torain in connection with the August 2013 paintball shooting of a Hasidic man in theVillage of Kaser.

A third suspect, Shashi Ramsaroop, pleaded guilty in the attack and faces 30 days in county jail.

The victim suffered burns and bruises on his torso.
