Here are some stories making headlines across the Hudson Valley.
Closing arguments were made in the murder trial of Hudson Valley real estate heir Robert Durst Thursday. Durst is accused of killing his best friend Susan Berman. Prosecutors in Los Angeles say Durst first killed his wife Kathie Durst and then Berman to keep her from telling investigators what she knew about his wife's disappearance. Kathie Durst vanished from her home in Westchester in 1982.
Emergency road work due to flooding caused the Taconic to close southbound between Exit 47 and Exit 45. The repairs began around 11 a.m. Thursday and were expected to end early Friday morning. Traffic was detoured to Route 55 in the meantime.
You can once again enjoy your favorite music at the Capitol Theatre in Port Chester. The popular music venue is reopening Friday night after 18 long months. Fans will receive a special treat with a free concert by a Grateful Dead tribute band. The Grateful Dead has played there more than 18 times. Music fans must show proof of vaccination or a recent negative COVID-19 test to attend concerts at the theatre.
