Fifteen students at Hendrick Hudson High School are putting on a play to raise awareness of bullying.
The name of the show is "Bang Bang You're Dead," and is about a student named Josh who is bullied to the brink.
Clare Carey, the theater program director, says the show is based on a true story about a 1998 mass shooting in Oregon. She admits it is a tough topic, but students in the play say it is also an important one.
"People need to know why these things happen," says Briana Mannarino, a performer in the show.
Bullying is allegedly what caused a student at Monroe Woodbury High School to kill himself just a few days ago.
Students say their performance is about reaching out to people in the community to help themselves and others around them.
