MOHEGAN LAKE - A home in Mohegan Lake was destroyed by a fire Tuesday evening during the snowstorm that buried parts of the region.

Deputy Fire Chief Joe Mayer said the blaze was hard to fight due to the weather conditions.

“It’s a hard situation when you get these bitter cold temperatures,” said Mayer.

The home’s occupants were able to escape without any injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
