Hundreds of people attended an educational discussion Wednesday about anti-Semitism and how people can fight against it.

This comes after more than a dozen acts of hate aimed at Jewish people were reported across the state.

Since the attack against several Orthodox Jewish people in Monsey last week, officials and groups of people have banded together.

Many people gathered at the Temple Israel Center of White Plains to hear how the United Jewish Appeal-Federation of New York and its nonprofit partner, Westchester Jewish Council, are working together to combat hatred.

Another big topic was how to provide enhanced security at Jewish institutions. Westchester County District Attorney Anthony Scarpino said his team is working with law enforcement to counter potential threats.

He said the county's Hate Crimes Unit continues to educate students and community groups to help prevent crimes and promote an understanding of cultural differences.

Scarpino also said no one in Westchester County has been physically harmed in any of the reported incidents.
