Severe weather Wednesday night knocked out power to more than 1,500 people in Wappingers Falls, leaving damage behind.
Dozens of trees came down on North Mesier Avenue, pulling electrical wires with them.
Crews worked throughout the evening clearing the trees to help utility workers get the power back on.
Police continue to urge people to avoid the village unless it’s necessary.
