Monsignor Robert Saccoman died on Good Friday at age 75 after losing his battle with cancer. Father Bob, as he was called, was ordained as monsignor just a few weeks ago. Cardinal Edward Egan reminded those at the Mass that Saccoman?s life was dedicated to his church and his parishioners.
And while there were somber moments at the Mass, everyone fondly remembered a man who ended every sermon with a joke and never allowed his illness to get in the way of his ministry.
