Husband faces judge in teen's slaying
A Mahopac man faced a judge in Carmel Town Court today for the alleged murder of his own wife on Christmas Eve.
Police say 25-year-old Paul Amay strangled and then stabbed 19-year-old Gloria Amay at their home. In the courtroom, the district attorney played a 45-minute video of Amay's confession to the murder.
Speaking through a translator, Amay allegedly confesses that he got into an argument with Gloria over a possible affair. He says he was drunk and didn't know what he was doing when he killed her.
Amay has been charged with second-degree murder. He is being held at the Putnam County Correctional Facility without bail and is due back in court Jan. 24.
