Judge hears appeal in Sandy Annabi corruption case
YONKERS - Lawyers for former Yonkers City Councilwoman Sandy Annabi and former Yonkers GOP Chairman Zehy Jereis were in federal appeals court Wednesday to appeal their clients' convictions.
The two were convicted last year on charges of corruption, fraud and bribery.
On Monday, lawyers asked for a new trial for Annabi and Jereis after learning about a prosecution witness who allegedly bribed a county employee to help one of his properties.

The judge denied their request for a new trial.
Annabi's attorney says he expects a decision on the appeal in about three weeks.
